Reprinting the entire series, one book at a time!

The Complete Adventures of the Moon Man Volume One 1933 by Fredrick C Davis

The Moon Man is a pulp magazine character who appeared in Ten Detective Aces magazine from 1933 to 1937. The Moon Man was a thief in the great tradition of Robin Hood. His disguise is a black robe, gloves, and a sphere of Argus glass—he can see out but no one can see in.

The Moon Man only robs those who have gained wealth at the expense of their workers. He is also against organized crime, often coming into conflict with various bosses.

The Moon Man is Detective Stephen Thatcher, son of Chief of Police Peter Thatcher. Thatcher’s girlfriend Sue is the daughter of his partner on the force, Detective Gil McEwen. McEwen has the right thumbprint of the Moon Man, and Stephen Thatcher is constantly running the risk of exposure.

This volume collects the first seven stories of the Moon Man from 1933.

  • The Sinister Sphere” introduces the Moon Man and gives all pertinent information. The reader learns about the Moon Man’s way of dispersing the money he steals to the poor through a confidential partner, Angel Dargan.
  • Blood Moon” finds the Moon Man framed for murder, making exposure even more dangerous for Stephen Thatcher…
  • Moon Wizard” features the Moon Man traced down by crooks through his agent, Angel Dargan. Dargan has just given one man a gift of money from the Moon Man, but the man thinks he can get more by turning his benefactor in for the reward…
  • The Silver Secret” deals with Dargan being discovered in a locked room with a murdered man…
  • Black Lightning” features the Moon Man’s plan to steal from an illegal casino only to watch someone else beat him to the punch. The Moon Man is again framed for murder…
  • Night Nemesis” concerns the shooting of Chief Thatcher while attempting to stop a crime. Evidence is found to implicate a crook who uses an unimpeachable witness as an alibi…
  • Murder Moon” finishes this volume. When Crooks kidnap Angel, the Moon Man’s actions result in Angel learning the Moon Man’s secret identity…

I’m really excited about this new series! I had some of the Moon Man stories, but now I will be able to get the full series at a reasonable price! This volume gets five stars plus from me!
