Daredevil is dead, long live Daredevil!

Daredevil: End of Days by Brian Michael Bendis

Daredevil was dead, to begin with. Did Ben Urich know that Daredevil was dead? Of course, he did. Daredevil died very publicly in a fierce battle through Hell’s Kitchen with the villain Bullseye. Bullseye rammed a billy club through Daredevil’s head. But just before Daredevil died, he said one mysterious word: “Mapone.”

Urich is ordered by J Jonah Jameson to write the story of the death of Matthew Murdock (Daredevil.) Urich tracks down all of Murdock/Daredevil's associates.

There’s Black Widow. Nick Fury informs Urich that Natasha Romanov is dead, and to stop digging…

There’s ex-wife Milla Donovan Gilliam. She is certain that Matt always wanted to be dead and now he is. She is very guarded about her son, Franklin…

There’s Electra, the red-clad assassin. She says she is out of the game, as she is busy raising her son Matthew…

There’s Typhoid Mary. She states that she has been cured of her multiple personalities. She has a pair of twin boys, which she says are children of Typhoid and could be Murdock’s kids but she doesn’t really know…

There’s Echo. She is out of the game and teaching school…

There’s Frank Castle, the antihero known as the Punisher. He is in prison. No prison can hold the Punisher for long, and he soon escapes after talking to Urich…

There are old enemies like the Owl and the Purple Man. Both are killed—by the Punisher…

Then when Urich is attacked by Bushwhacker, Daredevil saves his life…

Then the Hand kills Urich…

Who is Daredevil’s successor? There’s the real secret… And who or what is Mapone? Only one person seemed to know, Bullseye, and he killed himself…

The book is an easy five stars plus!
